Karen Henry

Biography

Karen has been quilting for over 20 years based in Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. She has been involved with several quilt guilds along the years and helped to coordinate the programs, organize raffle quilts, donation projects, and assisted with quilt shows. Karen has taught many workshops, many short demonstrations and lectured across the country. Her quilts have been accepted into Quilt National in Waterloo, ON and National Juried Shows, with a couple of prizes along the way. She has won several prizes
for her Trend Tex Challenges, and became CQA/ACC’s teacher of the year in 2008.

She was the local organizing chair for Quilt Canada 2012 in Halifax, NS and continues to exhibit in invitational and solo quilt shows. Currently Karen meets with a Fiber Art Bee once a month where they offer demonstrations of techniques to one another, organize small shows within the province, offer critiques and assistance of works in progress. She operates a couple websites including www.quilttheatlantic.ca informing quilters of events, guilds, stores, etc. in the Atlantic Provinces. Karen resides in Dartmouth with her husband and 2 tuxedo cats.
