Valerie is a self-taught, multi-disciplined, professional
artist. Born and raised in small town Springhill,
Nova Scotia, she now lives in the beautiful Annapolis
Valley and works in a broad range of mediums
including sculpture, fibres & textiles, painting, drawing &
illustration, wood, scratchboard and mixed media just to name a few. During her
career, she’s created for Warner Bros., DC
Comics and the Walt Disney Company as well as United Media
(Charles Schultz/Peanuts) and countless other
giftware & collectibles companies across Canada and the United States.
Valerie is the designer and sculptor of the East Coast Music Award trophy (ECMA) handed out annually in Atlantic Canada.
She is a member of the Evangeline Artists Coop
and a contributing designer and writer for Arnold Grummer’s Paper Making company where she pens a free monthly tutorial in paper
making. Valerie designs rug hooking patterns as well which can be purchased
exclusively through Ewe-nique Boutique Fibre Arts Emporium in Oxford, Nova Scotia.
Her artwork can be found in private collections throughout North
America as well as Europe.
