The morning will be spent viewing samples of weaving done on a rigid heddle
loom and a demonstration of loom being set up, dressed and cloth made!
After lunch, with guidance, students will each have their own loom to gain
hands on experience dressing a rigid heddle loom and weaving a sampler in
which they can take home.
At the end of the workshop, if any student should wish to do so, an Ashford
rigid heddle loom can be rented from Sisterhood Fibres for a monthly fee of
$50. In which at any point if the weaver decides to purchase loom, the
rental fee with be discounted from price of loom.
Teacher Materials: Sisterhood Fibres of Tatamagouche is providing us with
Ashford rigid heddle looms for the day.
Warp and weft fibre, scissors and sleying hooks will also be provided.
