Hardanger is a traditional white-on-white technique invented to imitate expensive lace. We’ll spice it up with colours to make a small motif that can be finished in a number of ways. Supplies will be provided to finish it as a plaque or brooch. Participants will have the choice of cutting threads to make a lacier design (left picture), or of not cutting them to make a design with a solid centre (right picture) that can be left blank or personalized.

List of materials for participants to bring: Scissors, small (no more than 5 inches or 12 cm) embroidery hoop or Q-snap frame

Instructor Bio: Faith Cormier, from Fredericton, NB, has been doing handwork of various sorts, mainly embroidery and knitting, for over 50 years.
