Spend the afternoon sculpting, shaping and designing a one-of-a-kind wet felted vessel! Using hand dyed sheep’s wool, soap, water and elbow grease, we will learn fun and creative ways to design with felt. We will be learning about resists, and creating a multi- layered project, experimenting with colour, and felting 3D objects. This class will be jam packed with designing and creating extravagant and unique vessels! Participants will complete a vessel using resists, hand dyed wool, and wet felting techniques.
Student Materials: Towels, Scissors
Instructor Bio: Anna Mathis is an international award winner for her textile designs and has shown and sold her work in galleries across Canada. She teaches Textiles and Entrepreneurship at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and travels to teach textile workshops around the Maritimes. You can find her at various fiber festivals including TWIST, in Quebec, the Maritime Spinners retreat, and the Nova Scotia Fiber Arts Festival. Anna is passionate about sharing her craft and selling fiber arts kits, tutorials and supplies as well as wearable art.
