$90 per workshop (per day) plus HST.

Student Materials: For both days, participants will need rug hooking equipment (hook, scissors, frame or hoop), a notebook or journal, linen or other backing and a variety of fabrics and yarns that you love to hook with.

The design can be as small as 8" x 8" if this is your first time taking the Healing Image workshop, or as large as you like if you have previously designed a Healing Image with Meryl.

Instructor Bio: Meryl Cook is a writer, fibre artist, and former homeopath in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Her mediums are rug hooking, spinning and journaling. The main themes of Meryl Cook’s work are self-kindness, moving forward one loop at a time and fibre art as healing. Meryl’s mission is to inspire others to reconnect with their joy and creativity.  She shares practical steps to unblock creativity, work through difficult situations and find meaning in life again.

Hooking since 2008, Meryl began her unique process of journal writing and design of healing mats in 2016 as a way of holding space for herself and figuring out how to move her life forward following treatment for breast cancer. Now she shares her self-care framework as a speaker, a creativity workshop leader and through her healing mats.

She is the author of two books, One Loop at a Time, a story of rug hooking, healing and creativity (December 2016) and One Loop at a Time, The Creativity Workbook (November 2017). Since 2016, Meryl has been teaching Hook a Healing Mat and Healing Image Design workshops across Canada, in the U.S. and at the Centre for Craft. 21 of Meryl's healing mats were a special One Loop at a Time exhibit at Sauder Village Rug Hooking Week in Ohio in 2018. She recently was Local Artist in Residence at the Centre for Craft,
Nova Scotia.
